Fee: Adults and Yout, $3195. Trip includes all transportation and lodging from Haines to Yakutat, Alaska.

The Tatshenshini-Alsek has long been regarded as North America's most spectacular river. On this 160 mile stretch of river, that flows from the interior of the Yukon to the Gulf of Alaska, trip participants can delight in paddling some highly charged sections of whitewater, hike to alpine meadows to fields of wildflowers, photograph mammorth icebergs, immense serpentine glaciers, eagles soaring overhead, and Alaskan brown bears fishing for salmon. The trip ends with rafters floating around phantasmagorically-sculpted iridescent icebergs calved into Alsek Lake with majestic Mt. Fairweather (15,325 feet) looming above them. Jimmy Katz has been leading groups down this river since 1978 and as the photography instructor and one of the river guides will assist imagemakers working in both film and digital in their pursuit of the timeless image.
